Define the job first
Start with the vehicle and the result you want: a particular color, a surface finish, a documented protection performance, or a business supply requirement. Include the installation environment, expected use and quantity in the discussion. A proposal can only be compared fairly when it addresses the same job.
Compare construction, not just labels
For TPU and PVC proposals, ask what the complete film is made from, including the top coating and adhesive. For a product described as TPH, ask for an explicit base-material description rather than assuming a formula. Request a product sheet that identifies the particular SKU or construction you will receive.
Put specifications on equal terms
Thickness values must describe the same included layers. A hardness result is a different property from self-healing. Gloss measurements need the test geometry and method. A quoted service life is also different from a limited warranty. Separate these items in your comparison instead of letting a single headline claim stand in for all of them.
Include the installer’s assessment
Provide the proposed installation instructions to the person who will apply the film. Ask whether the instructions match the vehicle surfaces, shape and planned process. If there is a disagreement about application method or heating, resolve it with the supplier before using a sample on the vehicle.
Compare samples under the same conditions
Use the same background, light and viewing angles for each sample. Label each one with its SKU and record which side and direction you are viewing. If a finish changes strongly with angle, do not choose from a single photograph. Ask for clarification when the sample differs from the catalog reference.
Confirm the supply proposal
Once a sample and product specification meet the project requirements, discuss quantity, minimum order, lead time, shipping and quotation terms.
